What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy

A gentle invitation to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with yourself.

Craniosacral therapy is a subtle, hands-on practice that works with the body’s connective tissues, membranes, nervous system, and the natural movement of cerebrospinal fluid—the fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord.

Using very light touch, we listen to subtle rhythms and changes in the body, often working around the head, spine, and sacrum. The intention is not to force or manipulate the body, but to create a quiet, supportive environment where the nervous system can soften and the body can settle.

The autonomic nervous system plays an important role in this process. It regulates functions such as breathing, heart rate, digestion, and our responses to stress and rest. When we feel safe and supported, the body has an opportunity to move out of constant doing and into a more restorative state.

And then there is the part that cannot always be explained by anatomy.

The moment your shoulders soften.
Your breath deepens.
Your thoughts become quieter.
You remember what it feels like simply to be.

Each session is different. You may experience deep relaxation, a sense of spaciousness, warmth, stillness, emotional release, or simply the feeling of being gently held and supported.

I see craniosacral work as a meeting between attentive touch and the body's innate wisdom—a space to slow down, listen, and reconnect with yourself.

Sometimes healing begins not with doing more, but with becoming quiet enough to hear what the body has been saying all along.

You don't need to know how to relax.
You don't need to know what your body needs.
You simply have to arrive.

And from there, we listen.
